I earned my bachelor's and master's degrees in Biological Sciences from São Paulo State University Julio de Mesquita Filho (UNESP, Rio Claro) in 2003 and 2006, respectively. I obtained my PhD in Ecology, Evolution, and Environmental Biology from Columbia University in New York, USA in 2012. During my doctoral studies, I was affiliated with the Biological Dynamics of Forest Fragments Project (PDBFF, Manaus, AM). I conducted part of my research at the Laboratory of Analytical Biology at the Smithsonian Institution (Washington DC, USA) and at the Laboratory of Genetics and Reproductive Biology of Plants at the National Institute of Amazonian Research (INPA, Manaus, AM). Currently, I am an assistant professor in the Biodiversity Department at UNESP, Rio Claro, where I teach undergraduate courses in Molecular Ecology, Microbial Ecology and Project Development. I advise master's and doctoral research projects in the Ecology, Evolution, and Biodiversity Graduate Program at the same university.
