Meet The Teachers
About me - Mr. Jesse Arbuckle
Hey Rockets! This will be my 8th year teaching at Underwood School. Underwood is an amazing place, and the students are the best! I have been the Social Studies teacher for those eight years and really enjoy seeing kids get excited about American and Minnesota history.
I live in the country with my wife, Karessa, and our three kids, Kenzie, Livy, and Krew. We love going to the lake, camping, and just being outdoors.
Sports is one of my favorite pastimes. I have coached basketball for the past 12 years. I am a die hard Vikings fan! I love talking sports with my students!
I am excited for a great year of school! Rocket Pride!
About Me - Ms. Kaytlin Ewy-Hough
This is my first year teaching 5th Grade, but not my first year teaching at Underwood School! I am excited to work with a new group of students, though some students may know me from student teaching or from 4H! I live in Fergus Falls with my husband, Peter, and daughter, Emberlyn. I love reading, cooking and baking, and drinking coffee!
About Me - Mrs. Molly Johnson
Hi! Teaching 5th & 6th grade ELA (English Language Arts) in Underwood makes me happy! When students walk into my classroom, I want them to know I believe in them as students and as their amazing, unique selves. My goal is for them to become lovers of reading, writing, and life by learning and using a GROWTH MINDSET throughout the year.
Not only do my students make me smile, but by family truly lights up my life (Hubby Patrick, Jorja 15, Ryker 12, John 11, Elin 9, and Jax 7). Hanging out with them is one of my favorite things to do, along with shopping, cozying up with a good book, traveling, drinking a cup of joe, pontooning...to name a few.
Thank you for sharing your child with me this year. Together, we can do it!
About me - Jason Rogers, Science
Hello, I am entering my 10th year at Underwood. My first year, I was a full time sub, followed by 8 years of teaching 5th and 6th grade Math. This will be my first year teaching 5th and 6th grade Science and I am looking forward to it.
In addition to my teaching duties, I am also the Co-Head Wrestling coach and a Junior High Football coach. I really enjoy sports, as they were a big part of my childhood.
I am also a family man, my wife's name is Emily and my daughters are Grace and Gabby. We enjoy taking camping trips and taking trips to the lake or doing some hiking.
This will be a very interesting year, with lots of unknowns. So please just bear with me and if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask. I look forward to working with each and everyone of you.
About me - Kelsey Nordick, Student Teacher
Boozhoo (Hello, in Ojibwe)! I am a senior at Bemidji State University and will be student teaching under Mrs. Johnson, through Christmas break. I graduated from Evansville High School in 2002, earned an associate’s degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant in 2008, and was a stay-at-home mom from 2009-2016. The last 4 years, I worked at the Breckenridge Elementary School as a SPED para. Once I started working at the school, I quickly realized teaching was my passion! Within a year, I was enrolled in BSU's online elementary education program. I am excited to get to know all of you and for this opportunity to learn from Mrs. Johnson while student teaching here in Underwood!
A little more about my family and myself: I live in Breckenridge, MN and am a proud mom of 4 wonderful boys. Devin, 18, is a freshman at Alexandria Technical College. Tyler, 16, is a sophomore at WCA. Levi, 11, and Brody, 9, both go to school in Breckenridge. They have a variety of interests from sports to video games to fishing. I enjoy life's adventures, fishing, being outdoors, campfires, music, and sports.
My goal for this semester is to provide my students with opportunities to develop their reading and writing skills in a way that is enjoyable and motivating for all.
