Travel to Greensboro
There are several options for travel to Greensboro. We recommend travel through Piedmont Triad International Airport. For those along the east coast, Amtrak or bus may be viable options.
Piedmont Triad International Airport. Airport code is "GSO". This airport is a 15 minute drive from UNCG and the conference hotel. Taxi and Uber rides are approximately $15-20.
Raleigh-Durham International Airport. Airport code is "RDU". The airport is little over 60 minutes from Greensboro.
Charlotte-Douglass International Airport. Airport code is "CLT". The airport is about 90 minutes from Greensboro.
Gaylon Transportation Center. The center offers AMTRAK and Greyhound bus access and is walking distance from the conference hotel.

Greensboro Attractions
Downtown Greensboro
- LeBauer Park. Located in the heart of Greensboro, offers an aerial sculpture, cafés, and other features.
- International Civil Rights Museum. An archival center that celebrates the nonviolent protests that served a purpose in the civil rights movement.
- Elsewhere Museum. A Non-profit organization that offers an artist residency program where artists can only use using items found in the Elsewhere Museum building.
Greensboro Area (within 15 minutes of downtown)
- Guilford Military Park. A historical park that features statues, monuments and walking trails.
- Greensboro Science Center. The Science Center features a small aquarium, zoo and other educational experiences.
- North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University. A&T University started as a land-grant university for African American students and grew to become a school with a variety of community initiatives, research, and award winning faculty. It is the largest historically black university in the country.
Piedmont Triad Area
- Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The fourth largest city in NC located about 30 minutes from Greensboro. Winston-Salem offers many wineries, art galleries and museums.
- North Carolina Zoo. Located in Asheboro NC about 45-60 minutes south and Greensboro and considered to be the largest "natural habitat" zoo in the United States.
