A.2. The chief librarian directs and supervises the total operations of the library and is responsible for the preparation, submission and administration of the approved library budget.
A.3. The chief librarian has a professional license and a master’s degree with major/concentration in library/information science. For a university, a doctoral degree is preferred.
A.4. The chief librarian has experience in administrative and professional library work and participates in curricular planning.
A.5. There are professional librarians in the staff to meet the needs of graduate students. Likewise, there is an adequate number of clerical and support staffs.
A.6. Opportunities are provided for the professional growth of the library staffs.
A.7. Compensation and fringe benefits are comparable with those of other academic personnel with comparative qualifications, experiences and responsibilities.
A.8. A faculty-library committee serves as liaison between the library staffs and the faculty.
A.9. The library maintains written policies and procedural manuals governing its internal administration and operations.
