Statement of College/Department Mission, Vision, and Objectives
B.1. As avenue of implementation of the institution’s vision, mission, goals, and core values, each college/department translates the institutional vision, mission, and goals into its own vision, mission, and objectives, in accordance with its specific requirements and the needs of the graduates in their professional and workplace practice. The following are the statements of college/department vision, mission, and objectives:
The School of Computer and Information Sciences envisions itself to be an institution of academic excellence in the fields of Computer Science, Information Technology, and Library and Information Science, transforming students into productive, socially-responsible, and globally competitive individuals.
The School commits itself to providing flexible, relevant, responsive, and quality education programs that will enable students to secure the needed expertise and professional competence in the fields of Computer Science, Information Technology, and Library and Information Science.
Produce individuals who excel in the mentioned fields.
Provide innovative, relevant, and quality education programs ensuring students acquire technical expertise and professional competence.
Conduct relevant and quality research contributing to technological and intellectual advancement in the mentioned fields.
Provide practical workplace training and occupational experiences through industry linkages to enhance students' technical skills and prepare them for professional careers.
INTEGRITY
Ethical consciousness, honesty, and trustworthiness in the conduct of one's self as a student and as a future professional.
TEAMWORK
Ability to work with diverse and dynamic individuals for the achievement of a goal, setting aside personal differences and emotional preferences.
EMPOWERMENT
Capacity to think freely and creatively to adjust to different workplace situations and the ability to be self-directed in the search for solutions to various situations in the workplace.
Educational Objectives of the Program and Program Outcomes or Student Learning Outcomes
C.1. The educational objectives of the program are competencies and professional accomplishments of graduates, three to five years after graduation. The following are the educational objectives of the program:

Upon graduation, Bachelor in Library and Information Science Alumni shall:
1. Utilize competently the acquired technical and non-technical skills in practicing a career in Library Information Science;
2. Advance one's skills in Library Information Science through the acquisition of best and timely practices, as
supported by the foundational skills acquired;
3. Become a globally-competitive librarian through the aid of continuing education
By the time of graduation, the students of the program shall have the ability to:
Utilize properly the use of electronic and digital information resources
Communicate effectively, both oral and written, using appropriate levels of discourse.;
Demonstrate logical and systematic approaches to the accomplishment of tasks;
Formulate objectives, policies, and procedures in managing resources considering future educational or organizational changes;
Implement effective library information science-based solutions appropriate to identified problems and requirements.;
Identify the needs and wants of the users to be able to evaluate and improve the practices and services;
Function effectively as an individual and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in a multidisciplinary setting;
Discuss the different computer system parts and online collaboration tools integrated into the library automation system;
Develop information technology solutions for an adequate library information system;
Conduct significant research projects that will benefit the library and the organization;
Evaluate information policy and ethical issues applicable in the local, national, or global context;
Develop the skills needed to engage in independent and lifelong learning.

D.1. Faculty
D.1.1. There is faculty participation in the formulation, review, and/or revision of the institutional philosophy and the objectives of the college(s)/program(s).
D.1.2. Incoming members of the faculty are oriented on the philosophy and objectives through appropriate orientation activities.
D.1.3. There is evidence of integration and dissemination of the institutional philosophy and program objectives and outcomes by the faculty in their respective syllabi.
D.1.4. Each member of the faculty has been provided with copies of the institutional philosophy and the objectives and outcomes of his/her program(s).
