Scott H. Holan is a Professor and Department Chair in the Department of Statistics and Data Science. He is also a Professor of Public Affairs and serves as a Senior Research Fellow in the Office of the Associate Director for Research and Methodology (Research and Methodology Directorate) at the US Census Bureau. His research focuses on developing statistics and machine learning methodology for dependent data (spatial, spatio-temporal, functional, and multivariate, among others), Bayesian methods, official statistics, and survey methodology. He is an elected Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), Fellow of the American Statistical Association (ASA), Fellow of the Institute of Mathematical Statistics (IMS), Elected Member of the International Statistical Institute (ISI). He currently serves on the editorial board for several leading statistics journals and is a committee member for the National Academies of Sciences Committee on Applied and Theoretical Statistics. Prof. Holan received his PhD in Statistics from Texas A&M University.
