This webpage is dedicated to Dr. Yu-Ling Lien, who was a postdoctoral scholar in the Tonks Group in 2018 and 2019. Sadly, in late 2018 Yu-Ling began a long battle with an autoimmune disease and passed away surrounded by friends and colleagues in March 2020.

Yu-Ling was kind, generous, and optimistic throughout her entire time in the Tonks Group, even as she was hospitalized. She was determined to use her voice as a platform to help others obtain bone marrow transplants, and to speak out about political situations in Taiwan. She made important initial contributions on the Tonks Group polymer projects, forming the basis for several other students' projects, papers, and patents--all while being physically limited from her treatments. She is missed.
