Every year, each standing committee in our chapter is required to organize a service event to help better the bands and the surrounding community. Here is what our chapter has been up to in the past year.
Every year, each standing committee in our chapter is required to organize a service event to help better the bands and the surrounding community. Here is what our chapter has been up to in the past year.
Apparel Committee hosted a clothing drive during their spring blowout sale. They ended up collecting over 330 clothing items to donate to people in need.
Ritual Committee coordinated making tie blankets for the University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital. With the help of the chapter and band members, they were able to make 20 blankets that children will be able to enjoy during their hospital stay.
Ways and Means Committee organized a trip to Feed My Starving Children in Coon Rapids. Our chapter, along with a few other groups, packed 123 boxes in one hour. The food packed from that night's labor will be going to El Salvador.
History Committee set up cookies to give out to all of the campus bands to promote participation and relationships among peers.
Social-service Committee planned Coffeehouse, an event where people can display and perform skills and talents. Admission into the event was a nonperishable food item which was donated to a local food shelf.
