FIREFLY SISTERHOOD

About Us

Breast cancer is personal, yet it doesn't have to be something you face alone.

Firefly Sisterhood provides free, personalized one-to-one support for women who have been impacted by a breast cancer diagnosis. Our unique mentoring program creates connections that extend the patients' support network beyond their family and medical team to include a volunteer Peer Mentor Guide with a similar story and experience. Whether you've just received a breast cancer diagnosis, are well into your treatment plan, or are struggling in survivorship, you can find guidance, support, hope and light at Firefly Sisterhood.

Our Mission:

The mission of Firefly Sisterhood is to foster a one-to-one connection between women impacted by breast cancer and inspirational survivors and thrivers that serve as their Peer Mentor Guides. Our goal is a future where no woman faces breast cancer alone.

Get Involved

If you've experienced a breast cancer diagnosis, you know how scary and traumatic it can be. Join our community and help provide comfort and connection through your own experience.  Our Peer Mentor Guides are breast cancer survivors/thrivers who volunteer their time and their hearts to provide one-to-one social and emotional support to help guide and light the way through breast cancer.

While we require our Peer Mentor Guides to have had a breast cancer experience, there are many other way to get involved as a volunteer with Firefly Sisterhood. From healthcare liaisons to event ambassadors, you can make a difference in the life of someone impacted by a breast cancer diagnosis.

Get Support

Firefly Sisterhood's support services are free, confidential, and available at any time in your breast cancer journey. Our one-to-one mentorship program is thoughtful and intentional. We will match you with a Peer Mentor Guide, a volunteer breast cancer mentor, who shares a similar breast cancer experience. Once you are matched, it's up to you and your Peer Mentor Guide to determine how frequent you would like to connect. The match may result in a few reassuring phone calls or could continue for months during your treatment. You will also decide together how you would like to keep in touch, whether by phone call, text, or perhaps even meeting in person. Our primary goal at Firefly Sisterhood is to provide meaningful support through one-to-one connections, however we regularly organize social and educational gatherings to provide connections, support, and friendship within our community.
