EARL E. BAKKEN CENTER FOR SPIRITUALITY & HEALING

Founded in 1995, the University of Minnesota's Earl E. Bakken Center for Spirituality & Healing is a leader in the field of integrative health and wellbeing. Our mission is to advance whole health and wellbeing by providing interprofessional education, conducting research, advancing integrative models of care, and delivering innovative community engagement programs. We discover, teach, connect, and heal.

The Bakken Center offers online and in person programming geared towards exploring your personal health and wellbeing including lectures, workshops, academic courses, graduate programs, free self-care and survivorship websites, health professional training, and much more.

These guided loving-kindness meditations of differing lengths that you may wish to listen to during a formal meditation period. These meditations may be viewed simply as opportunities to intentionally set aside some quiet time to reflect, and to offer yourself and others wishes for wellbeing, caring, and kindness. Loving-kindness meditations can serve to remind us that regardless of how difficult our life circumstances may be, we can practice appreciating and touching into the more resilient sources of caring and compassion. The Bakken Center has a wide array of programs and resources available to the community. In order to make our programming accessible to a broader audience, we have implemented a sliding scale fee structure.

We have offered mindfulness programs for individuals, organizations, businesses, and communities for more than two decades. Programs are being offered in a variety of formats and are a great opportunity to develop a personal practice.

We host free webinars on various wellbeing topics. You can learn more about upcoming webinars and view recordings of past webinars as well.

We are also hosting free weekly online Mindful Monday sessions, which include gentle mindful movement and guided meditation.

We offer a number of wellbeing workshops for the community to explore health and wellbeing including therapeutic yoga and other self-care topics.

Waking the Oracle is an ongoing project at the Bakken Center that creates immersive experiences activating intergenerational community wisdom sharing, healing, and wellbeing through music, dance, storytelling, participatory arts, and dialogue.
