Hi, I'm Plinio. I'm a geophysicist and NSF funded postdoctoral associate at Institute for Rock Magnetism at University of Minnesota, USA.

The main focus of my research is understanding and utilizing the magnetic properties of cave (karst) environments, specifically speleothems. Magnetic minerals are found within the growth-layers of speleothems. They can record information about the evolution of Earth's magnetic field through time and variations in their magnetic properties can be used to understand changes in environmental and climatic conditions.
