Claire Halpert

I am an Associate Professor of Linguistics and Director of Graduate Studies in the Institute of Linguistics at the University of Minnesota.

I work primarily on syntax, focusing on the interaction between nominals and predicates in terms of case, agreement and movement. My research focuses on Zulu and other Bantu languages. I am also interested in the syntax-prosody interface and in particular how the realization of focus interacts with agreement, movement, and prosody.
