ECE Scholarships

The ECE Department is generously supported by benefactors, providing among other things, annual scholarships for ECE students. The ECE Department makes an annual call for scholarship applications (usually in March/April) which are assessed and scholarships for the next academic year then awarded (usually by end June). This page will be updated with information for each application and awards cycle.

The ECE Department has annual funds and scholarships to distribute.

The application, review and award process for 2020 - 2021 ECE scholarships is now complete.

We were able to award over $200,000 to ECE students taking into account things like financial need, engagement in and out of studies as well as academic merit.

Students who applied for 2020 - 2021 scholarships have been notified of the results of their application (emails sent out at the end of June/start of July). We do not currently have any additional funds for 2020 - 2021 ECE scholarships but if we gain any additional funding, we will look to award it to students who were not successful in gaining an ECE scholarship.

We will start seeking applications for 2022 - 2023 ECE Scholarships in March 2022. Students will be notified at that time to apply for scholarships through email and the weekly digest.

PS. A tip - please remember that if you have any scholarship awards (U of M or not) to your name, that these can be highlighted on resumes as evidence of success, award and achievement!
