About Me: I’m a Ph.D. candidate in Mathematics Education with a doctoral minor in Statistics. My home college is College of Education and Human Development. Previously, I earned Master’s degrees in Applied Mathematics and Mathematics Education and worked as a school teacher for several years in California and Minnesota. As a mathematics education researcher, I also have a passion for poetry, statistics, and philosophy.
My Responsibilities: As a member at Large, I aim to support the CIGS in any way I can within my capacity.
Why I'm Passionate About CIGS: International students should advocate for themselves and support each other. CIGS is a friendly and inclusive community.
Key Achievements:
I published my sole-authored article in a major international journal in my field on April Fool’s Day 2025. Although I always made fun of the date, I’m proud to track the downloads and see how my work took off!
Fun Facts:
I am a foodie. I try not to give up on ballet. I truly live a “freelance writer” lifestyle, writing in the dawn or in the dark.
