About Me: I am a Veterinary Epidemiologist originally from Kenya. Currently, I am a 4th year PhD Candidate in the Veterinary Medicine Program, CVM. My research interests include precision breeding of African dairy cattle and One Health. I am passionate about mental health, social and cultural justice, diversity, and inclusiveness among different groups.
My Responsibilities: As the Co-President, I will be responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership for existing and new CIGS initiatives.
Why I'm Passionate About CIGS: I have seen and experienced first-hand issues and concerns that relate to international students specifically and the negative impact they can have on our productivity and mental well-being. Working with CIGS gives me the opportunity to contribute and work towards supporting my fellow international graduate students.
Key Achievements: MN-Drive Graduate Student Professional Award, 2025 ($13,000), 10 peer-reviewed publications, and being Co-President of CIGS
Fun Facts: I am a big fan of Rugby, Star Wars, and all things Marvel!
