Our goal is to provide chemicals, apparatus, tools, hardware, office and cleaning supplies to the Chemistry and University Departments.
You must obtain your 3 – 5 digit CHEMBIZ Account ID from accounting before a stockroom card can be made.
For Account ID Activation:
1) Go to https://z.umn.edu/chemstockroom.
2) Download the Sales Card Application & Temporary Stockroom Card form using the link above.
3) Submit complete form to chemreq@umn.edu.
After Account ID Activation (Steps 1 – 3 are complete):
4) After receiving the Sales Card Application & Temporary Stockroom Card form back from accounting (must include the CHEMBIZ Account ID and Chemistry finance staff signature), please bring it down to the Research Stockroom, located in the Smith Hall sub-basement, Room S17.
5) We will make a copy of your application.
6) Stockroom Cards are printed weekly, and will be ready by Wednesday afternoon the week after submission.
All Liquid Nitrogen and dry ice sales will be written on the sheet provided at the self-service stations.
Liquid Nitrogen: You must wear appropriate gloves for filling and touching the fill handles when dispensing the LN2.
Dry Ice: You must wear appropriate gloves while unlocking the lock and touching the handle\lid.
Gas Cylinders: When purchasing gas cylinders, the door will remain open during the day. Fill out the bottom portion of the card located on the gas tank, and leave on the table in the center of the room. Please ask a research stockroom staff member for flammable gas tank access.
