Kyle values living with gratitude, simplicity, and by being present in the moment. He has come to understand that moments can range from instantaneous to geologic, it all just depends on scope and perspective. His time at the University as a student and employee has given him opportunities and skills to explore various scales and perspectives and further value the foundational pursuit of open, honest, and inclusive dialogue. His commitment to valuing a diversity of perspectives stems from recognizing that his own perspectives as a white, cisgender, gay man are limited and can only be expanded through mutual learning. He currently works to synthesize multiple perspectives into short- and long-term land stewardship decisions for the UMN's experimental forests network in northern Minnesota.
