2015 M.S. Applied Plant Science

Annie Makepeace found a passion for plants and farming during her undergraduate years at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. After returning to her hometown,- the Twin Cities after graduation, she worked for General Mills in a nutrition and regulatory role. She decided to take a pause from corporate life to further her education at the University of Minnesota. She studied management practices to enhance the nutrient density of broccoli at the SROC, and finished her M.S. in Applied Plant Science in 2015. Since then she has been working as a Technical Marketing Manager for WinField United (a division of Land O'Lakes) where she works with a cross-functional team to develop education and training content that creatively conveys how crop protection products work. As a member of the CFANS Alumni Society Board, it's just one of many ways she gets to stay connected to the U.
