Keynote Address

Precision Education for the Health Sciences:  An Organizing Framework

Wed, October 4 at 5:30-7:00pm in HSEC 7-150/7-152
Free and open to the public

The increasing digitalization of health professions education, and indeed the health professions themselves, offers an unprecedented opportunity for bringing large amounts of process and outcomes data to bear on how we learn.  But how do we best drink from this firehose?

In this presentation, we will define what has changed and what has not.  Using multiple clinical examples, we will explore approaches where the increased precision would be clearly beneficial;  and we will discuss cases where it might not be.

Spoiler alert:  good pedagogy still rules but in places and at a scale that we have not seen before. Learn more about our keynote presenter, Dr. Martin Pusic, here.

The evening keynote is free and open to the public thanks to our generous sponsors: UMN School of Dentistry, UMN Medical School, UMN College of Veterinary Medicine, UMN School of Nursing, Minnesota Medical Association and CentraCare Health.

This event will also be live streamed via Zoom. Please RSVP before Oct 2 at noon if you prefer to have access to the livestream and recording after the conference. If you will attend the keynote in-person or have registered for the full conference you do not need to RSVP.

Thank you to our generous conference sponsors!
