Boynton Health Updates June 15th
As we wrap up fiscal year 2026 and prepare for the year ahead, it’s important to acknowledge all the great work Boynton staff have accomplished. It has been an especially challenging year, and your commitment to moving the needle on patient care has not gone unnoticed.
Bolstering student mental health support by creating one entry to mental health services and by expanding single sessions at Colleges without embedded counselors.
Improving financial savvy through better weekly reporting.
Supporting our students throughout Operation Metro Surge through mail delivery for pharmacy, meeting with student groups, and expanding Nutritious U Food Pantry.
Maintaining key infection prevention initiatives by starting rounds in all clinical services.
These highlights provide a brief snapshot of the incredible work that’s happening across Boynton Health. As we move into fiscal year 2027, leadership is developing our organizational work plan to ensure we effectively transition our lens from the big picture into brass tacks. One element we are focused on is training, tools, and technology to streamline our clinical functions and ensure staff receive the support they need. This includes optimizing our current EHR as we continue to advance our transition to a new system. Stay tuned for more updates on where we're at in our EHR optimization efforts.

It’s Health Care Risk Management Week, a time to recognize and honor health care risk professionals who play a crucial role in ensuring safe and trusted patient care.
At Boynton, risk management is an essential part of providing safe, quality care to our patients. It involves identifying potential risks, preventing errors, and continuously improving our processes to create a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
What you do matters; everyone plays a role in risk management.
Follow policies and procedures. Remember, all policies and procedures are available in PowerDMS.
Protecting patient privacy and maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive information.
Reporting incidents, near misses, and safety concerns through Convercent.
Completing all required training and education on time.
Speaking up when you identify opportunities to improve safety or reduce risk.
As a shared responsibility, we need to work together and stay proactive. We can strengthen patient safety, support our colleagues, and continue providing exceptional care to patients.
Our reporting platform will be transitioning from Convercent to EQS. Based on the current project timeline, the upgrade is expected to be completed in early July.
The Compliance team is currently comparing Convercent and EQS to identify any changes in functionality, reporting processes, and user experience. Our goal is to ensure a smooth transition and provide you with the information and resources you need before the go-live date.
If you have any questions or concerns about the upcoming transition, please send them to bh-complianceqa@umn.edu. We will continue to provide weekly updates and share additional details as they become available. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this transition.
