Who can volunteer?

We welcome adults and youth to volunteer with 4-H. You need not be a parent, a 4-H alum or an expert!

Youth volunteers

Young people in K-13 can volunteer as members. Contact your local Extension office for more info.

Here's the process for adult volunteers

STEP A: Application

Select one of the following options:

A handwritten signature is required. Signed applications can be submitted to your county office via email, fax, mail, or in-person delivery.

STEP B: Background check

Select one of the following options:

STEP C: Complete orientation and reporting form

NOTE: this online learning module works best with a desktop/laptop computer or with an Android mobile device. (At this time, users with iPads will have variable results and the training is not available for iPhones.)

IMPORTANT: Submit an orientation reporting form, which notifies staff that you have completed this step.

Please allow 2-3 weeks for screening materials to be processed. You will be notified when your screening is complete.

You must be approved BEFORE beginning to serve as a volunteer.
