The geographical context of the Philippines has contributed to the development of its regional literature. 

The country's diverse regions have their own unique cultural traditions and dialects, which are often reflected in the literature produced in these areas. Being an archipelago means that the three regiosn have closer literature contexts and topics, but still vary greatly in many aspects.

 Language use in literature is crucial in the context of the Philippines. Considering that we have over 180 languages and dialects, we boast a rich myriad of literature genres and topics.

The appropriate use of language encompasses the linguistic heritage, backgrounds, essence, and implications in literature. Hence, the call to enhance Philippine literacy stems from the significant number of bilinguals in the country.

Literature is also embedded with the identity of cultures. The Philippines boasts 182 ethnolinguistic groups, each with a different class of literature and linguistic preference.

This incredible variety of identity groups calls for a deeper exploration of ethnicity as a literature subject and premise. Without adequate support, these pieces might remain unrecognized in the crevices of their tribes.
