Dr. Ying Xiong (CV)
(ying.xi@umich.edu)
Originally from central China, I moved to Canada to purse my PhD degree in environmental engineering at the University of Calgary. After completing my PhD degree, I found myself drawn towards an academic career devoted to research into air quality and climate change. I embarked on my postdoctoral study in the U.S. in 2021.
My academic journey has sparked a strong interest in combating climate change, environmental injustice, air pollution, and public health issues. My primary area of research is centered around understanding the spatiotemporal differences in emission levels of aerosols and greenhouse gases on both regional and global scales.
I delve into the influence of human-induced and natural sources on the carbon cycle and human health. Ultimately, my research aims to unravel the complex links between global warming, atmospheric chemistry, and human health.
