I am an assistant professor at Ankara University. My fields of specialization are development economics and economic history. My research focuses on understanding the impact of schooling on financial behavior, with a particular emphasis on savings for retirement and stock market participation. Another body of my research focuses on explaining the causes of long-run economic growth and how historical interventions in education and health affect long-run economic development. I also have studies on how market microstructure affects the trading environment in a stock market context.
