Welcome to the website of Dr. Xiao Zhang! I am a researcher working in the field of computational materials science and condensed matter physics. I obtained my bachelor's degree from Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, China studying renewable energy engineering. After my graduation, I joined the group of Dr. André Schleife at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with my thesis focusing on computational characterization of optical properties of materials and the improvement of dielectric screening modeling. I am now a research investigator at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor in the group of Dr. Emmanouil Kioupakis in department of Materials Science and Engineering with my research focusing on studying phonon-mediated quantum processes, ultrawide band gap semiconductors, and computational characterization of electronic materials.
I am currently actively searching for a faculty position and appreciate any connection/discussion on science/other aspect! If you want to reach out about anything, please feel free to send me an email!
