The Atrium is led by residents, for all Ann Arbor residents. Together, we are developing a sustainable community where young workers and families can grow and thrive. Our community celebrates health and wellness, collective action, and good stewardship of the city we call home. Learn more.
Our development is owned by a community land trust to create accessible pathways to homeownership and empower residents to lead on building health and operations.
Fully powered by on-site solar, reducing utility costs while improving air quality. Our residents value direct access to nature and care about their environmental impact.
We activate our site for a city-wide resource following natural disasters. We open for all Ann Arbor residents to safely access basic needs and supplies.
Our development is a training site for Ann Arbor's future green building and operations workforce.
We believe everyone should have access to high-quality amenities that support healthy, active lifestyles. These amenities will also help attract and retain residents.

The Atrium is 100% electrified, made possible by a solar roof installation with an estimated capacity for 188 panels producing 60 kW. Because of our focus on high-efficiency design, appliances, and resident behavior, this will fully serve the building's estimated energy usage. The system will be supplemented with battery storage to prevent outages. We will collaborate with DTE to maximize our solar installation within the current Distributed Generation program guidelines, while also pursuing future updates that would allow buildings like ours to expand solar capacity and return more renewable energy to the grid. For example, we recommend future residents consider installing additional solar capacity over the parking lot.
Our community is unique because of the partnerships that make it possible. We have partnered with local organizations across amenities, community resources, and local government to bring The Atrium to life. Get to know the partners who help us thrive.
Financial solvency and viability is core to any sustainable development. Read more about our approach to financing.
