Sztain Lab

About

Biological processes occur in a highly dynamic fashion involving molecular diffusion, binding events, and chemical reactions, spanning a vast range of spatiotemporal scales. These processes can be described mathematically to characterize and predict the behavior of matter under given conditions. The Sztain research group integrates approaches from chemistry, biophysics, mathematics and computer science to develop strategies for understanding dynamic biochemical systems. These methods are applied in the design of novel molecules targeted towards environmental and medical challenges. We integrate a variety of computational and experimental techniques, and use artificial intelligence to streamline methods for maximum efficiency.
