Shannon M. Danforth

Ph.D. Candidate

Department of Mechanical Engineering

University of Michigan Ann Arbor

I am a third-year graduate student at the University of Michigan, advised by Prof. Ram Vasudevan in the Robotics and Optimization for Analysis of Human Motion (ROAHM) Lab. I received a B.S. in Civil Engineering at the University of Portland in Portland, Oregon.

During my time as a student, I've also conducted research at the University of Portland, Los Alamos National Laboratory, and the Engineering Institute at Chonbuk National University in Jeonju, Korea.

My research experiences have all involved the study of dynamic systems. I have moved from monitoring the health of structures over their lifespan to working in optimal control at the University of Michigan.

I am a National Science Foundation graduate research fellow.
