The University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance and the International Forum for Schenkerian Research are pleased to announce the Sixth International Schenker Symposium, to be held on the University of Michigan campus, Ann Arbor, Michigan, March 6–8, 2025. Scholars from several countries will gather to consider Heinrich Schenker's legacy in today's musical and scholarly world, present papers on various aspects of Schenkerian theory and analysis, consider the history and reception of the Viennese theorist's ideas, and explore new developments in linear and prolongational approaches to music. A concert by musicians from the University of Michigan and a display of books and scores will complement the proceedings.
