Michelle: Hello, thank you for joining me today. My name is Michelle Woods, and I’m the director of the Career Services Office here at the School of Social Work.

I wanted to briefly talk with you about some of the services that we provide students in the program. There are four areas. The first is career planning. We help you align your career goals with opportunities, courses, and resources here on campus. We also assist students with licensure preparation, meaning how to best prepare for licensure after graduation, and how to prepare for the board exams. We also have writing support within the Career Services Office, so we help you think about how to best write in the program, especially at the graduate level. We also help with job preparation, meaning that we may meet with you to go over your resume, your cover letter, or to help you with mock interviewing.

Feel free to contact us with any questions or appointments by email, and you may email us at ssw-cso@umich.edu.

We also have events, right now they’re all held online, and we usually advertise those events by email. You also can see the events that are planned per semester on our events calendar, which is located on the homepage of our school’s website.

You may also visit and look at what type of services that we provide students from our office on our own Career Services webpage. It’s located on the School of Social Work website under the student life section. So feel free to browse that page and if you have any questions, reach out to us.

Thank you for listening in today. Reach out to us regarding your social work career, and I wish you the best on your social work journey. Thank you.
