Note: Update on this website has been discontinued in December 2023. Please visit sites.google.com/view/luxia/ for the most recent updates about my research.

I am a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the Department of Statistics and Probability and the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics (courtesy) at Michigan State University.

Before joining Michigan State University, I was a Postdoctoral Scholar in the Department of Biostatistics, University of Washington, working with Professors Ali Shojaie (Biostatistics) and Sina A. Gharib (Medicine). I earned my Ph.D. in Biostatistics at the University of Michigan, advised by Professors Bin Nan and Yi Li. My research interests lie broadly in studying the statistical foundations of data science, and developing statistical machine learning methods for problems arising from biomedical research to promote understandings of human diseases. I am also highly motivated to collaborate closely with other statisticians and biomedical scientists to solve emerging problems in health sciences.
