Eric is a recent graduate of the University of Michigan, having earned a Master's degree in Industrial and Operations Engineering (IOE) in December 2024 and a Certificate of Graduate Studies in Complex Systems in December 2022.
At LATTICE, he is working on applying optimization techniques to improve the process of flight scheduling. Refinements to this project are made based on continuous feedback and guidance from representatives of Collins Aerospace and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
During his time as a graduate student, Eric was also an instructor for a course in Agent-Based Computer Simulation. He was personally responsible for designing much of the course's curriculum, and wrote nearly a dozen assignments for the course which were refined over time based on student feedback.
Eric received a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from Emory University in 2021, but subsequently decided to switch to a more quantitative field because of his interest in practical problem-solving. His interest in applications of systems modeling to transportation logistics problems eventually led him to the IOE department and LATTICE.
Eric's communication expertise from Political Science and teaching, as well as his quantitative modeling experience from Engineering, constitute a varied skillset that makes him a versatile researcher.
In his free time, Eric enjoys performing as a singer and improv comedian.
