This Book is a Planetarium

This book concisely explains the forces at play behind everyday tech through radically lo-fi, interactive pop-up contraptions.

By paring black-box tech down to just paper, this book facilitates an intimate vantage point on the invisible forces which structure our world. To satisfy readers’ curiosity about how something so simple can do so much, the book concisely explains how humble paper taps into the larger phenomena of light, time, soundwaves, and mathematics in order to make a planetarium, an instrument, a “speaker”, a decoder, a perpetual calendar, and a spirograph work.
