The 4th Workshop on Safety Testing and Validation of Connected and Automated Vehicles
A Workshop at the 27th IEEE International Conference on Intelligent Transportation Systems
September 24th - 27th, 2024, Edmonton, Canada
A Workshop at the 27th IEEE International Conference on Intelligent Transportation Systems
September 24th - 27th, 2024, Edmonton, Canada
This workshop focuses on sharing the state-of-the-art theories, methods, algorithms, metrics, datasets, simulations, and field implementation of safety performance testing and validation of connected and automated vehicles (CAVs), and identifies challenges as well as research needs, aiming to encourage cross-disciplinary cooperation and facilitate the development and deployment of CAVs.
As the 4th occurrence following a series of successful workshops at ITSC 2022, IV 2023, and ITSC 2023, this workshop for ITSC 2024 is also featured with a “Mcity AV Challenge” aiming to rigorously assess the driving intelligence of CAV in realistic traffic environments. An interactive platform is provided featuring a high-fidelity simulation environment within Mcity, a dedicated AV testing facility that incorporates a diverse range of driving scenarios, including highways, intersections, and roundabouts. Participants are tasked with designing an AV decision-making module that enables the successful completion of various routes. Awardees with top performance teams will be invited to present at the workshop venue.
