GeoClub News : Thank you to everyone who came to EARTH Festivus! We hope you enjoyed the delicious food, great conversation, and art that many of our talented community members submitted to the art competition. It is with great pleasure that we announce that Anae Lemaire’s painting, Mountains by night was voted the winner of the 3rd Annual EARTH Art Contest! Congratulations Anae! Additionally, congratulations to Chloe Marks for winning the overall dessert competition with her delicious chai scones, as well as Elena Lee for winning most festive dessert

International Students’ Week: GeoClub will celebrate our international students with the 3rd International Students’ Week!
We will be hosting our Multicultural Potluck on Monday (2/16)! All members of the department are invited to come and share a dish (or drink) that represents their culture, heritage, or favorite cuisine. Please fill out this spreadsheet with your name, potential dish, and allergens so that we can plan accordingly!
Geo Games: 2/19 from 6-8pm
Geo Games is an indoors, station based activity hosted by former Camp Davis students and GSIs to help prepare you to be out standing in the field! Come join for free Chipotle, fun, and prizes to be won!
MGU Abstract Writing Workshop: 2/26, 6-7:30pm
The 2026 Michigan Geophysical Union is coming up in April and we have a series of workshops planned to get you ready to present! The first workshop, where we will be teaching the basics of writing and submitting an abstract, will be on February 26th from 6-7:30pm.
Adventure Leadership Outdoor Education & Certificate Programs
If you are interested in attending a workshop but finances are a barrier, please reach out to Alex and Adriana (aquizon@umich.edu; abrownn@umich.edu), as future department service opportunities may be able to fund this! There is no commitment by reaching out, we are just gauging interest
