Background: I am a half-Korean half-caucasian American from the metro-Detroit area of Michigan. I graduated from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor with a Bachelor's in Science under the major Ecology, Evolutionary Biology, and Biodiversity in 2024.
My research interests are in both proximate and ultimate explanations of animal social behavior, particularly as it pertains to applications for ecology. How widespread is animal culture and how does it change previous interpretations of behavioral data in the wild? How widespread is animal communication and what are they communicating about? What conditions drive evolution of social learning and communication? How can we leverage the previous questions to drive conservation and community benefits? These kind of questions drive my research.
