Hi, I am Yilun Zhu, I received my Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Michigan, where I was advised by Prof. Clayton Scott.

My research centers on the broad theme of learning under imperfect data. 

I study various forms of this problem across a range of modalities, including language, vision, and biology; and model families, from large language and vision foundation models to nonparametric estimators. 

My long-term goal is to develop machine learning algorithms, grounded in rigorous mathematical analysis, that uncover hidden structures in complex data and provide meaningful insights into the physical world.

Prior to joining U-M, I received my B.S. in ECE from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2020, with experience in: sensing for communication systems, image processing and 3D reconstruction.
