Education Programs Mission
Our mission is to guide and support the growth and development of education candidates and leaders who are committed to social justice and equity, lifelong learning, and deep disciplinary content and pedagogical knowledge as they fulfill their roles in schools and society.
Education Programs Vision
Preparing education professionals to be socially just leaders in their active role of co-constructing cultures and environments which empower and sustain learning across the lifespan.
Education Programs’ Goals
Develop education candidates and leaders who can center students, their cultures, their experiences, and their knowledge as assets in classrooms, schools, and communities.
Prepare education candidates and leaders to use research-guided, disciplinary-specific content knowledge and pedagogical skills to develop lifelong learners.
Guide education candidates and leaders to employ reflective practices, creating environments that encourage students’ development of critical thinking, problem solving, and performance skills for success in academics and in life.
Support education candidates and leaders to become ethical, respectful, and socially responsible professionals not only in their classrooms and schools, but also in the local, national, and global communities they and their students share.
