The International Workshop on Nonlinear Dynamics and Applications intends to gather researchers working on nonlinear continuous and discrete dynamical systems and related areas. Although the main focus is on systems generated by ordinary and partial differential equations, as well as difference equations, and their applications to Physics, Economics, Medicine, Computer Science, Neuroscience and any other fields, topics like neural networks, optimization, or cryptography are welcome.

Beyond the scientific program, this conference is dedicated to Professor José María Amigó (short bio) on the occasion of his 70th birthday. José María Amigó has been a professor of Applied Mathematics at Miguel Hernández University since its foundation in 1997. He has developed intense research activity in discrete and continuous dynamical systems, obtaining innovative results in fields such as entropy, chaos, synchronization, time series, cryptography, hydrodinamics or non-newtonian fluids, among others. He has published around 150 research papers in top-tier journals. Furthermore, for many years, he has been the director of the research group "Dynamical Systems and Applications" at Miguel Hernández university.

Venue

The International Workshop on Nonlinear Dynamics and Applications takes place in the city of Elche (Alicante) at Miguel Hernández university, hosted by the Center of Operations Reserach (CIO) and the Department of Statistics, Mathematics and Computer Science.

The lectures will take place in Laboratory 0.2 of the Torretamarit building.

Elche is world-famous for its unique landscape, characterized by Europe's largest palm grove (El Palmeral), which has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Furthermore, Elche possesses an amazing cultural asset, also declared World Heritage by UNESCO: the Mistery Play (Misteri d'Elx). This religious lyrical drama is a surviving example of European medieval religious theater and is performed every year in mid-August at the Basilica of Santa María.
