If you are staying at a hotel near the University, hotel parking may be available (although it is frequently paid parking). There are several hotels within walking distance of the University.
If you are driving in from a hotel further away, there are several parking garages around campus. Visitor parking is $4/hour, with a $20/day maximum. For additional information on visitor parking, please visit Transportation Services.
The closest garages to our venue are Regents Drive Garage and Union Lane Garage, most easily accessed via Route 1, and entering the University at Campus Drive.
Alternatives include Mowatt Lane Garage (accessed most easily via Adelphi Road, entering the University at Campus Drive; or Route 1, entering the University at Guilford Road), and the Xfinity Visitor Lot (accessed most easily via University Boulevard, entering the University at Paint Branch Drive).
College Park is accessible through the D.C. Metro's green line. Our stop is the College Park Metro Station.
Fees for the metro depend on distance travelled, and range from $2 to $6 during the week. 1-day, 3-day, and 7-day passes are available for $13, $28, and $58 respectively (includes Metrobus; see below). Payment is through SmarTrip®, for which there is a physical card (obtained at any metro station) or a mobile app.
Please note that the metro ride to campus from within D.C. can take as little as 10 minutes (from the Fort Totten Metro Station) or the better part of an hour if you are staying closer to central D.C.
Once you arrive at the College Park Metro Station, you can either walk, following Campus Drive to the west, or take the free 104 shuttle bus from Bay E. Walking will take about 30 minutes to our venue on campus; the shuttle arrives every 15 minutes.
Shuttle-UM
Recommended if you are commuting via the metro to the University each day.
The University runs a free shuttle bus service, Shuttle-UM that operates during the day. During the summer school and conference, only the 104 route will be available, which travels between main campus and the College Park Metro Station. Download the Transit app for easy information on real-time schedules.
WMATA Metrobus
Recommended if you are staying at a hotel not within walking distance of the University or a metro stop.
Please ensure that your hotel is on a WMATA bus route.
The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) operates several bus lines in the College Park area. Rides are $2/ride, and can be paid for using your SmarTrip® card or app. You may also choose to purchase a 1-day, 3-day, or 7-day pass, which includes metro and Metrobus rides.
