Hi, my name is Terry, and I'm here to help you find your way around TerraPlan.
TerraPlan is a student-run planning journal of the University of Maryland's Student Planning Association (SPA) that gives young planners, designers, and researchers a place to publish their ideas about how we build, move through, and live in our cities.
Every issue brings together essays, research, and creative work from students across disciplines, all exploring different corners of the planning world. I may be slow and steady, but I read every submission carefully. So take a look around and see where TerraPlan can take you.
TerraPlan is looking for peer reviewers for our upcoming issue, Our Movement: People, Change, and Access. We welcome master's students, PhD students, alumni, and faculty to apply — alumni, PhD students, and faculty are especially encouraged given the depth they can bring to the process.
Applicants will be selected based on their background and experience. Once accepted, reviewers will help us develop the rubric used to evaluate submissions, then apply that rubric to conduct a double-blind review of assigned pieces. We'll begin the process in Spring 2027: reviewers will be matched with submissions and given the rubric the first week of February, with 2–3 weeks to complete their evaluations.
Interested? Click below to fill out a short form telling us about yourself. We'll follow up within about a week to let you know if you've been selected.
