Develop the vision and priorities for the School
Represent the School on campus, and in the wider public policy community with a range of stakeholders and partners, to enhance the reputation and visibility of the School, as well as build partnerships to advance its mission
Develop the business model for the School and resourcing to fund its priorities and programs
Oversee the efficient allocation and management of human, financial and physical resources, including exercising responsibility for all hiring decisions in the School

Support the Dean in the development and execution of School strategy and governance
Support the Dean in projects and initiatives to advance progress
Provide high-level support to the Dean to ensure the effective operation of the Dean's office

Mentor and support the career trajectory of faculty, including faculty appointment, recruiting, promotion and tenure processes in the School, and serve as the liaison with the University on all issues related to faculty research, teaching, and personnel matters
Allocate the time and effort of faculty across research and teaching, and across the various academic programs
In the absence of the Dean, serve in an acting capacity to ensure appropriate and timely action on all matters requiring the Dean's consideration
