Welcome! My name is Kanat Isakov, and I am a PhD Candidate in Economics at the University of Maryland, College Park. I am on the job market in this academic year, 2025-26.
My research lies in the intersection of macroeconomics and labor economics. I use large-scale datasets, guided by economic theory, to study wage adjustment and inequality dynamics. Part of my dissertation was written while being a PhD Visiting Fellow at the Central Bank of Colombia.
