Kartikeya Batra

I am a development economist with keen interest in political economy. I use applied microeconometric techniques, and large datasets of different kinds. I am also adept at running large-scale field experiments. My research explores the determinants of socio-economic development, with a focus on regional development in low- and middle-income countries. 

I will be joining the Centre for Effective Governance of Indian States (CEGIS) as a policy economist (Post-Doc) in July 2024. In June 2025, I will join Azim Premji University as Assistant Professor (Economics).
