Wil Armstrong, Blockchain Analyst, Hashless
Wil Armstrong is the lead Blockchain Analyst for the Web3 data firm, Hashless. Prior to joining the team in March of 22, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Finance in 2020 and a Master of Finance in 2021 - both from the Robert H. Smith School of Business.
Wil has deep knowledge of blockchain technology, cryptocurrencies and Web3 infrastructure. His role focuses heavily on the research and data analysis side of blockchain with a particular interest in stablecoins and their smart contract interactions.
Wil served as a teaching assistant for 6 semesters during his time at the Smith School of Business and is dedicated to expanding the reputation and presence of blockchain technology on campus. He sees education on blockchain and decentralized finance as a crucial goal for the future of Maryland as well as a great opportunity for students looking for a career on the cutting edge of innovation.
"Congress and Crypto: Outlook for regulation and legislation in the digital asset space"
Ron Hammond, Director of Government Relations, Blockchain Association
Ron represents the Blockchain Association on Capitol Hill as the Director of Government Relations. Ron’s background in crafting a bipartisan crypto regulatory framework via legislation dates back to 2016 when he served as the Financial Services Policy Lead for Rep. Warren Davidson (OH-8). During Ron’s five years on Capitol Hill, he authored several pieces of legislation including the Token Taxonomy Act, Federal Reserve Regulatory Oversight Act, and the Derivatives Fairness Act. Before coming to Capitol Hill, he was the campaign manager for three successful Texas State Senate races. Ron received his B.A. from Georgetown University. Follow Ron at @RonwHammond.
Erica McNaughton, Senior Associate, KPMG LLP
Erica McNaughton is the UMD University Recruiter for KPMG with a history of working in the public accounting industry. Erica joined KPMG’s University Talent Acquisition team in December 2021, where she focuses on recruiting future talent for KPMG from the University of Maryland and other schools in the DMV area. Prior to joining the UTA team, Erica spent two and a half years working in KPMG’s Federal Audit practice, supporting clients primarily in the defense and energy sectors. Erica completed the CPA exam and has her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Accounting from the University of Alabama.
