A Caterpillar's Journey

In Barber’s Summer Music, this group heard a story - that of a caterpillar going through a tough couple of days. As they continued coming back to the idea, the story became more and more clear to them in the music. The Studio team loved this idea and concept and encouraged the musicians to write the story down for us. Then, one of our Studio members turned the musicians’ story into a poem that could be included in the program for audiences to read as they listened. But this poem wasn’t just printed in the program - it was on the back of a caterpillar who unfolded one line at a time. And became a bit of a mascot for the musicians! They surprised us by performing with copies of the caterpillar taped to their music stands and instruments!
