In preparation for their 2023 Chamber X performance, the Anacostia Quartet wanted to take a different approach to sharing the music of father of chamber music, Joseph Haydn. While his work is highly respected and well known in the world of classical music, this group wanted to highlight the humorous side of Haydn by incorporating rubber chickens into their performance, making it “squawk” along with the music. Additionally, the musicians brought other props with them on stage such as a powdered wig and empty bottles to set the scene of a party.
