The Blaustein Lab is dedicated to advancing microbiology, microbial genomics, and food science through integrated research programs. Combining applied science with computational approaches, we aim to understand the complex microbial systems that influence food safety and agricultural sustainability. It is our mission to work towards developing bio-based solutions to strengthen healthy food systems and food security for all.
We work in the Department of Nutrition and Food Science (NFSC) at the University of Maryland (Marie Mount Hall, Rm 3202). We are also associated with JIFSAN and the UMD Microbiome Center of Excellence.
