The ninth edition of the Northeast Star and Planet Formation Meeting will take place on Wednesday, 2024 July 10, at MIT Haystack Observatory between 9am and 5pm. The aim of this series of meetings is to bring together students, postdocs, researchers, and faculty from Northeast institutions who are working on topics related to star and planet formation. These topics include exoplanets/circumstellar disks, pre-stellar and protostellar cores, outflows, and molecular clouds.
Talks have been allocated 12 minutes for presentation and 3 minutes for discussion. The meeting also includes a lunch, a poster session, and breakout sessions. Participants will be able to see the Haystack 37m-Telescope. A longer tour that also includes the VLBI Correlator used by, e.g., the Event Horizon Telescope will be offered after the event, with no separate registration necessary.
At this point we are unfortunately no longer accepting registrations as we need to cap the number of participants due to logistical constraints. We are sorry about this constraint.
Funding for this event is kindly provided by the Northeast Radio Observatory Corporation (NEROC).
The meeting will take place in the main building of MIT Haystack Observatory. This site is located at 99 Millstone Road, Westford, MA 01886, USA, underneath the radome of the Haystack 37m-Telescope at the end of the observatory access road. See the Haystack Observatory Campus Map for orientation. The location is not to be confused with Millstone Hill Road, which is nearby but incorrect. Plenty of on-site parking is available adjacent to the observatory main building.
