Course Synopsis

Sport's Law as a discipline is an area under-researched in this country. University of Malaya is one of the universities that offer this course at undergraduate level. This course would illustrate key areas of academic discourse away from sport industry stakeholders.

Dr. Wirdati Mohd Radzi

In 2021, Wirdati Mohd Radzi, PhD celebrates twenty-six years at the Centre for Sport and Exercise Science (CSES), formerly Sport Centre, University of Malaya. She was seconded to the Ministry of Youth and Sport as the Sport Commissioner of Malaysia for a year in 2019 and came back to teach in CSSE late last year. With a background in law and sport management, she lectures in sport management and actively involves in research on the social aspects of gender and/in sport. She is also interested in research areas that involve Muslim and sports, culture and sport, as well as the sociological aspect of sport within Muslim communities having worked as a researcher with the International Olympic Committee's Women and Sport Commission. Apart from academic and research roles at the CSES, Wirdati is an active member of the sports governance fraternity both locally and at the international level. She is currently the Vice President (Education) at the Asian Association for Sport Management based in Tokyo since 2018. She is also a member of the Global Commission for Tolerance in Esports and Gaming under the purview of the Ministry of Tolerance and Co-Existence based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates since 2020. She aspired to bridge the legal fraternity and the sport industry players in this country in the near future.
